May the 4th be with you! The 2nd and 3rd graders researched and reviewed for a Star Wars Trivia Game. Our winner received a basket of goodies and a lightsaber. We had fun dividing up the candy in the Darth Vader piñata. The 3rd graders knew if there were 56 pieces of candy and 8 students, then each student picked up 7 pieces of candy. Happy Star Wars Day!

Today the 4th-6th grade took a virtual field trip to a pig farm as part of There is a pig in the classroom.
Alba kindergarten student Elliot Nieman and his mother Misty Nieman donated a large number of books to the school. Elliot assisted his mom in picking out age appropriate kindergarten and first grade books and is pictured here with his donation to the school.
The 4th-6th grade learned about DNA today. They did an activity with dice to simulate DNA sequences. They then drew dogs based on traits of DNA sequences they rolled. Some enjoyed it so much they did it twice.

The preschool students at Alba Public School have been working on a coral reef bulletin board. Today, they created sea turtles to add to the bulletin board.
On Thursday, Star Township Fire Department hosted and Easter Egg Hunt for the youngsters at Alba Public School. This event was followed with the Stat Fire Department representatives serving snow cones to all the kids in the building. The students of Alba Public School had a wonderful day! Thank you to all with the fire department for making this happen.

Kindergarten and first grade students worked on basketball skills in gym class recently.
Alba Public School will be conducting a Special Board of Education Meeting on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. The focus of the meeting will be on interviewing applicants for the Superintendent’s position.
The 4th -6th graders have started a unit on Soybeans. Today they started an experiment on growing soybeans to see what is most important to grow them light, soil, air, or water.
